The next PTA Meeting is Tuesday January 10th, @ 6:30pm, in the auditorium.

****IMPORTANT**** We will be changing PAJAMA DAY to Friday, December 23rd.
Mr. Simons asked that we change the date to coincide with the 5th grade Snow globe project. I've never personally seen it but was told there is a huge snow globe that the students walk through and look at the 5th graders' projects. PJ day accidently fell on snow globe day last year and he thought it was cute.

Congratulations to Miss Kelly's class for winning the first Box Top ice cream social. Which ever class turns in the most Box Tops from December 1st to December 31st will receive the next ice cream party. So send in those Box Tops!!!!! Also, continue supporting your school by sending in your Labels for Education labels.

We are currently looking for families to donate any children DVD movies, especially Disney. Jennings students who are currently learning English will use these movies to get a little extra exposure to the English language at home. If you're not done with your movies yet, you may know someone with older children who would love to donate them to such a great cause. Please have your child leave them below the PTA mailbox in the office.

Mrs. Benson is still looking for friends or family members who are willing to hang out in the computer lab between 12:35PM - 1:00PM. Having adult supervision there will allow students in need of extra reading time to be able to get it. Please contact Mrs. Benson at JenniferBenson@ci.bristol.ct.us if you or a family member can help.

We are currently addressing our teacher's wish lists. Some of the items being purchased are board games for indoor recess, study carrals to help students focus during testing, extra books, and supplies for the art room Cricut machine. The PTA will also be helping out more with field trips this year. With this the students may be afforded the opportunity to go on field trips they haven't been able to in the past. So thank you for contributing to the PTA and participating in our fundraisers.

We still have a few Mixed Bags that have not been picked up. They are in the office. Please contact me at (860) 384-1512 or MarkWhitford@comcast.net if you would like them sent home with your child or if you are unable to get to the school.

Calendar of events:

-The Student Holiday Craft Fair will be Tuesday, December 6th and Wednesday, December 7th. The students will have an opportunity to shop for their family members. If you have time to volunteer it's a wonderful thing to experience. The students put a lot of thought into their purchases and really enjoy it. A list of specific items to choose from was distributed to students today so encourage them to bring it home. This list will also be helpful determining how much shopping money to send them to school with. Please note that we try to stock 50-100 of each item and items are only available while supplies last. We all owe Monica Grabowy, her committee and her mother, many thanks for spending more hours than you can imagine on these crafts.

-Your Holiday Fundraiser items can be picked up on December 8th from 3-5PM. Please make every effort to pick up your items at that time. Also, volunteers are needed at 1PM that day to help organize the items for a speedy pickup. Please contact Amy Aubin at paubin91@comcast.net or Lisa Monckton at lmonckton@aol.com if you are able to volunteer on the 8th at 1PM or if you are absolutely unable to pick up your items on that day.

-Chili's night will be on December 12th from 5PM to 9PM. Please come and support our school.

-School store will be on Wednesday, December 14th.

Our mission is to provide the students of John J. Jennings School with activities and support to enrich their educational experiences.  The Jennings PTA organizes activities such as Pumpkin Decorating, Halloween Bingo and Movie Nights.  The PTA also raises funds to provide our students with additional educational activities and materials.  Last year we purchased 14 new Epson® projectors that work with classroom computers and Smartboards™.  This year we are raising funds for other projects that will benefit the school.

We are always looking for new PTA members.  PTA membership allows parents to have a say in school decisions that affect student’s education and is a great way to interact with the Jenning’s principal and teachers.  Membership gives parents the ability to volunteer and become involved with their children in a fun, positive way.
